Quick Response Program - Volunteer Today

Rosedale Volunteers started to offer a new service to our residents a little over a year ago, the "Quick Response Program." RVFD trained First Responders, EMTs, and Paramedics respond to medical emergencies to provide care to sick or injured patients prior to the arrival of the ambulance. While this has been a successful program by cross-training firefighters, our department could use more volunteer help.

Since the inception of the program, QRS has responded to a wide variety of calls, including cardiac arrests, traffic accidents, falls, traumatic injuries, breathing problems, and other medical problems.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a member that responds to medical calls, contact us for information. The RVFD provides certified training and equipment to members, at no cost to them. Not all QRS members would be required to go through firefighting training, unless they chose to do so. We look forward to hearing from you, and welcome your assistance to make a difference in our community!

Prospective medical field students can benefit from the learning experience and persons employed in the medical field can offer assistance by volunteering in the community. RVFD also participates in CCAC's FireVEST Scholrship program, offering free tuition to students at CCAC (in several disciplines, not only fire science) to qualified persons that agree to the County's requirements.
